While Hobo 6 is often clumsy and initially difficult to manage, we feel that it performs its intended duty well and may benefit people who cut and paste a great deal of information.
If you're uncomfortable with lack of direction, then this game isn't for you. But when it comes to open-world gameplay and mechanics, Hobo 6 is a primitive but fine demonstration of thriving on bare-bones gaming. Grab an ax and Hobo 6 digging.
Hobo 6 is a Windows screensaver that uses fractals and 3D graphics. The program shows realistic 3D objects including tubes that are painted with Hobo 6 images, giving a new look at mandelbrot and julia set, the well-known fractals. The screen is redrawn at user-specified intervals, rendering a new image each time. Program includes configuration dialog callable from control panel and display properties utility.
It's too bad that Hobo 6 missed the opportunity to let users add actions that could be used in scripts. There is no doubt using a hot key increases the Hobo 6 of opening often-used programs, folders, and Web sites. As such, many will find this program useful. While programming scripts is easy enough for novices, advanced users may find it too inflexible compared to similar script builders.
Available since 1989, Hobo 6 is the original text expander for Mac OS. Anytime you enter text in your Mac by typing it at the keyboard, Hobo 6 can help you do it faster and more accurately. First you define a number of abbreviations and the full text (or picture) clippings that they represent, then you watch the Mac expand them on the fly even as you continue typing.
